  • Greetings!

Time is precious. If you're very young, you may not appreciate that fact. If you're a baby boomer, you probably realize the years are flying by more quickly. If you're a mature senior, you well know the value of the years you have spent with your loved ones.

Please realize the importance of every minute. It makes you choose how to spend your time wisely. It helps you make the best choice. As Tim McGraw sings, "Live Like You Were Dying".

    New Year Cliche`

At the beginning of every new year most of us make those horrid resolutions. I'll do this, I'll do that, I'll do it all. But the reality is, we probably won't.

My motto for 2005 (and every other year) is "Just Do It"! If there is something you want to do, you can drag those good intentions out forever. You won't ever get anything accomplished until you actually take action.

You've heard that "A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step". It's true. The completion of any project is the direct result of concerted action. It all depends on YOU.

Simply put - whatever you want to accomplish will only get done by effort on your part. A little action and effort will create a small result. A LOT of action and effort will cause a tremendous result.

How much do you want to accomplish right now? No one can do it for you. It's up to you.

What I can do FOR you...

    Old Friends, Another Year Ends
Deja Vu. You know that feeling; that overwhelming knowlege that you've "been here before". On December 18th I got that same old feeling - and it was so very comforting! I've been a member of the same wine tasting group since 1979. Impossible, you say. No! I was VERY young when I joined.

As I sat talking with my old friends that night, I recalled our past holiday parties. The food is always wonderful, the wine is plentiful and the friendship is ever present. I can't attend as many of the monthly meetings as I used to do. Some of our members are no longer with us and over the years many others have joined and then left the group. The core members, however, are present year in and year out. Despite our busy lives, we come together to say goodbye to another year and to welcome in the new one. We reminisce about the weddings, the births and the career changes we've experienced during those twenty-five years.

The more things change, the more we need some things to stay the same. Consistency in certain areas of our lives is a very necessary thing. Long-time relationships keep us grounded. These old friends keep us real. We don't put on airs, we can't pretend to be something we're not. Few of us can fool anyone for a quarter of a century. Our old friends know us too well, and still like us anyway. What a comfortable feeling that is! Young people are building their support circle now and will appreciate their own lifelong friends in the future.

We raise a glass to 2005. Look forward to meeting the new people that will cross your path and enter your inner circle. Cherish those old friends that have been a part of that circle for so many years. Change is inevitable and yet some things never change.

The next time you celebrate with friends - savor the moment and appreciate the constancy in your life. Yet always, always, always leave the door open for the new!

    Preferred Vendor List
You may not believe many of the requests that come to my personal assistant and concierge service. To handle many of these requests, Yours, Mine and Hours works from a Preferred Vendor List for our clients. Since YMH is committed to providing its clients with the finest service available, preferred Vendors are ONLY added to the list after careful evaluation and appropriate research into their products and services. Only those businesses meeting the high standards of my concierge service are accepted as Preferred Vendors.

If you have a favorite service provider, a company you use that provides excellent service, feel free to forward this e-mail to them with a personal note.
Ask them to contact me if they want to become a preferred vendor for YMH clients. I am always seeking quality companies to work with my clients. At present, there is an opening for a Preferred travel consultant. Know one? Let me know.

If your business would like to be added to this Preferred Vendor list, please e-mail me at deb@yoursmineandhours.com or call me at 215-412- 7689 to begin the process.

    Something Good for Someone Else
You've heard the best way to feel good about yourself is to do something good for someone else. It's true. This February, come join the North Penn Chamber of Commerce Women's Network in their efforts to assist three local charities. Donate an item to the event and/or attend and participate in the event. That's two ways to be a part of something great!

To donate an item for auction, (gift certificates, timeshare vacations, gift basket or other item) contact Donna Keller at 215-362-9200.

The Annual Charity Auction will be held on February 17, 2005 at the William Penn Inn, Route 202 and Sumneytown Pike in Gwynedd. Preview, hors d'oeuvres and drinks at 6:00 PM. Auction begins at 7:00 PM.

Proceeds will benefit The Wellness Place for the Cancer Community, New Choices/New Options and Community Housing Services. As an extra added benefit for you: The evening is an extraordinary networking opportunity!

    Valentine Heart to Heart -
This Valentine's Day give your special someone a surprise. Consider a personalized gift basket from Yours, Mine and Hours. Perhaps even pamper your special person with a Valentine Gift Certificate they'll love... their own personal assistant.

"But if I had one, what would I do with her?" For many of you, there are upcoming Confirmations, First Communions, weddings and other family events. YMH will address and mail out your invitations for you or help with thank you notes. I can assist with responses, research banquet facilities, etc. By hiring someone else to do these often time-consuming tasks, you are free to continue your projects, work at your business and spend your time doing what you love.

Keep in mind the importance of keeping in touch with friends and family. If your contact list is on little slips of paper that get lost, or in your address book that is so old the pages are falling out, it may be time to upgrade and update to save time and energy for the fun things. I will create a master list of your contacts which can be updated and from which mailing labels, envelopes, etc. can be printed. Easier to read, quicker to prepare and always up-to-date and readily accessible on paper or your computer (and preferably both - with a backup copy).
